High-temperature steam setting is a standard professional shaping technology for curtains. Different from household ironing, it uses industrial equipment to restructure fabric fibers under high temperature and pressure. This process permanently fixes pleats and draping, presenting a neat and stylish look.

2. Standard Working Procedures

Step 1 — Fixing with Special Film

Mount finished curtains on professional setting film and align pleats precisely to ensure even and straight folds. Premium film is adopted for longer-lasting shaping effect.

Step 2 — High-Temperature & High-Pressure Steaming

Place curtains in sealed industrial equipment. Treat them with steam at around 120℃ for 1.5 to 2 hours. Steam penetrates deep into fibers and rearranges molecular structure to optimize fabric shape.

Step 3 — Rapid Cooling & Shape Locking. Cool down the curtains quickly after steaming to lock the shaped form. The fabric gains shape memory and resists rebound and deformation.

Step 4 — Finished Products. Curtains come out with full, three-dimensional pleats and excellent draping performance.

3. Key Advantages

1. Superior Shape Retention — Curtains keep uniform and tidy pleats all the time. They maintain elegant appearance without sagging or messy folds during long-term use.

2. Sanitized & Eco-friendly — Steam at 120℃ effectively removes residual formaldehyde, kills bacteria and mites, and eliminates odors. Curtains can be hung directly without pre-washing.

3. Enhanced Fabric Performance — The process realizes pre-shrinking and color fixing. Curtains resist shrinkage and deformation after washing. Improved color fastness makes them more sun-resistant and durable.

4. Application Notes

1. Suitable Fabrics — Recommended: Chemical fiber, blended fabric, blackout fabric and high-density fabric. Not recommended: Silk and certain velvet fabrics. They have natural good draping with limited improvement after setting, and may get edge warping due to improper operation. Fabrics with poor color fastness may fade under high temperature.

2. Service Life of Shaping Effect — The effect can last for years. However, improper care such as rough washing and high-temperature drying will gradually weaken the shape memory.

3. Style Difference — This technology creates neat and crisp pleats. Choose non-setting treatment if you prefer natural casual folds.
